Ronald is a native of Compton, CA, a suburb of Los Angeles. Ronald began his musical career in middle school and instantly fell in love. After high school, Ronald attended California State University, Long Beach where he earned a Bachelors of Music, with an emphasis in Music Education. There, he was able to develop as a tenor and bass trombonist and further increase his love for music. After graduating, Ronald began teaching in Los Angeles, where he taught middle school band and orchestra. It was also here that he met his future wife, Gloria. After spending two years in Los Angeles, Ronald and his wife decided that it was time to change and move to Long Beach, CA, where Ronald took a position in Long Beach Unified School District, teaching middle school and high school. Currently, Ronald is teaching band and orchestra at David Starr Jordan High School in Long Beach, CA and is a Master’s Candidate at the American Band College of Sam Houston State University. He lives in Long Beach, CA with his wife Gloria and their son, Ronald Scipio IV.
